Selbu - Fin Gammel Selbu
Fine Old Selbu (Fin Gammel) was developed to resemble as closely as possible the thinnest yarn used in the traditional mitten knitting in Selbu. We developed the yarn in collaboration with Anne Bårdsgård when she wrote the book "Selbuvotter". This yarn is particularly suitable for knitting thin mittens with intricate patterns, but can also be used in other projects where you need a thin, durable yarn. The wool is extra long-fibred, shiny and fine. The yarn has a little extra spin and twist. The combination of carefully selected fibers and the special spinning method gives a durable, almost hard yarn that presents itself defined and shiny in the knitwear. Three natural colors available. (Natural White, Middle Grey and Natural Black)
White yarn is spun from Norsk Kvit Sau sheep, gray is spun from Grå trøndersau sheep and natural black is spun from Blæset sau sheep.
100% Norwegian wool
Unit: 50 grams per skein
Recommended needle: 1-2mm/0 US
Running meter: 180m/196yds per 50g
